Canadian Landmarks III 2026

On July 18th, we celebrated the Grand Opening of 2026 Member's Exhibition at Shelburne Town Hall Gallery in Shelburne, Ontario.

The event welcomed a fantastic turnout of guests who enjoyed a wonderful and diverse selection of artworks, creating an inspiring and vibrant atmosphere to mark the occasion.

Award Recipients

1st Place: "The River", Olaf Schneider, Oil on Canvas, 36"x60"

Juror Comments: Olaf's rushing river reminded me how important waterways were to the early history of this country.

2nd Place: “Storm Clouds," Cathy Groulx, Oil on Canvas, 36"x48"

Juror Comments: The storm clouds in Cathy’s painting speaks to how our climate impacted settlers lives.

3rd Place: “Midnight Velvet," Kelly McNeil, Oil on Canvas, 20"x24"

Juror Comments: And of course the animals of our country as depicted in Kelly’s gentle strong moose represent the character of Canadians.

Honorable Mentions

Honorable Mention 1: "Sunrise," Micheal Zarowsky, watercolour / acrylic on gessoed panel, 19"x32"

Juror Comments: Micheal’s winter scene has both the depth of cold and the sweet warmth of sunrise.

Honorable Mention 2: "Winter Ontario Flight Series," Diana Hillman, Oils, chalk & pencil on wood panel, 40"x40"

Juror Comments: I have always loved flying over this country, you see the vastness but imagine the intimacy of the scene.

Honorable Mention 3: "I've Been There," Joanna Turlej, Paper Collage on Canvas, 30"

Juror Comments: Joanna has obviously been there, so have we all been there! Her use of collage sets this one apart and makes us look at it differently.
