MEMBERS' EXHIBITION 2026

On March 29th, we celebrated the Grand Opening of 2026 Member's Exhibition at Neilson Park Creative Centre in Etobicoke.
The event welcomed a fantastic turnout of guests who enjoyed a wonderful and diverse selection of artworks, creating an inspiring and vibrant atmosphere to mark the occasion.

Steve Rose

Award Recipients
1st Place: “Departure”, Diana Hillman, 40”x60”, Oil, pencil and chalk on wood panel

Juror Comments: Great composition and overall structure creating a sense of space and mood through use of strong value contrast and a limited palette. A dichotomy of sharp division and separation between interior and exterior, warmth and cold, near and distant. A very relatable visual experience, well done!
2nd Place: “In Time Scars Fade”, Mary Elizabeth Duggan, transparent watercolour 37.5"x23.5”

Juror Comments: An impressive and intriguing abstracted statement. Wonderful use of controlled colour and sense of light within a powerful organic construction. A visual metaphor between physical and emotional experience. Masterful execution of chosen medium. Excellent!
3rd Place: “Odyssay”, Gina Alpus, 30”x40”

Juror Comments: A breathtaking vision of nature and her exquisite forms and textures. Extraordinary in skill level with a combination of sensitivity and nuance of colour, light, and perspective. Lovely!
Honorable Mentions
Honorable Mention 1: Wendy Michell, "The Other Side of Winter”, pencil on drafting film, 9”x12”

Juror Comments: An absolutely wonderful drawing invoking pure childhood joy and wonder as well as a delightful sense of nostalgia. Impressive!
Honorable Mention 2: Doug Stratford “Spirt Island”, oil on canvas, 24”x36”

Juror Comments: Impactful use of luminous colour, robust value contrast and an impressive and thoughtful division of space. A refreshing take on the genre of landscape painting utilizing abstract shapes and sensual organic forms. Bravo!
Honorable Mention 3: Sohyun Kim, “Retention”, Size: 48 x 36 (H x W), Oil on canvas

Juror Comments: A unique composition and design, cryptic and deeply personal symbolism. A profound image, open to individual interpretation and contemplation of possessing, holding, custody or preservation. Powerful!
